Lynn Kelly approached us to refurbish one of her self drive horseboxes. This box is one that Lynn transports her beloved dressage Mare, Cordonia. She is a Holstein German Warmblood. It is also available for hire, therefore she wanted something not only practical but aesthetically pleasing. This was Equine Interiors first commissioned job.
The solution
The initial impression was dark and uninviting, we needed to give it a lift. As this box is hired out to clients, it had to be easily cleanable and hardwearing. Lynn chose three different colours of faux leather to recover all seating and mattresses. We added bright contrasting curtains and cushions for a splash of colour and home comfort.
Our skilled upholsterers got to work removing all old covers, adding a extra lining of dacron to the existing cushions, for a more luxurious feel. The new refreshed covers with contrast piping were fitted. We then added a matching padded surround to the integral cab access hatch for a more comfortable transition into the space. Black out curtains were fitted for privacy and a homely ambiance.
