We received a phone call from a lovely lady called Louise, asking if we could re-vamp her horse box living with a Portuguese theme. We were thrilled to hear this as Jes had lived in Portugal for 12 years and had two Lusitano stallions herself. With the knowledge Jes had, we were well away designing and picking colours to transform this space.
The box itself was neat and tidy but wasn’t very inviting with the original colours of dark red seating and taupe carpet on the walls, it also had signs of wear and tear.
From start to finish this project was an absolute joy. Louise came to the factory to meet Jes and was able to choose her fabrics, and stitch design. We selected just the right Portuguese blue and an off white leather for the seating and bed mattress, plus two shades of grey for the cab seats. It was lovely to get to know Louise at this meeting and finalise details face to face.
We visited Southey Farm where Louise keeps her beautiful Lusitano boy, Monty, to take measurements of the box and numerous photos.
Once the lorry was delivered we got to work stripping the box back to basics, removing all upholstery, which included the walls and headlining. The cupboard doors were stripped out ready for re-spraying cream.
The front seats were removed and re upholstered in two tone greys, walls and ceiling covered in cream faux leather with detailed, self-coloured piping on the ceiling. The seating was upholstered in the bright blue leather with cream piping and detailed stitching also in cream. The Client provided her own fabrics for the cushions, blinds and letter board plus other accessories, to add glamour and pizzazz to the living area.
Equine Interiors have recently refurbished the living in my horsebox. From the start they were able to take my ideas and turn it into a shared vision. I visited their HQ to see various different designs and I was impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail.
They had my horsebox for little over a week and the transformation is simply incredible. The high quality craftsmanship shines through and even when we were halfway through the redesign with the horsebox in their workshop and I changed my mind about something they were unfazed and simply happy to make my dreams a reality. I also enjoyed seeing daily progress updates from the team through photos and videos.
The whole team at Equine Interiors are easy to deal with, and the service is second to none. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
